It gets a little messy no matter what grease you use but the high temp grease "seems" to hold up a little better in the summer. There are so many grease fittings that I'd rather not pay $4.99 tube but I often end up paying that.

There should be a page or two in there has graphics showing what lubes to use in certain temperature ranges. The grades are sorta like oil weights. Lower numbers have better low temp performance. I've never used anything but #2 greases.
